Hike #25: Birthday Hike

 Today, we headed to the mountains for my birthday outing--we missed our turn-off and ended up at the entrance to Cades Cove.  We took the first trail head and went for a cool hike!  

About 4 miles total--in and back.  

On the way back close to the parking lot---we encountered TWO bears.  We keep our distance--thus the blurryish pictures.  Bears are big!  These noticed us, but kept on their merry way without any help from us.  Michael did grab my whistle out of the backpack.

Birthday Wishes--Culver's, Sweet Gifts and Double Rainbows

I came home to find a sweet gift from my friend, Lynn on my birthday!  

Tera surprised me with a bonus dessert--trying Culver's custard--first time!  She picked all my favorite flavors--lemon icebox, Snickers, mint chocolate and vanilla.  

The storms passed through and left us a double rainbows---the pictures do not even do it justice!
