Our former 4-H leader and my mentor, as I have taken over as volunteer leader this year, invited Michael and I to join her private group for monarch tagging. It was so much fun!!! Michael ended up catching and tagging around 4 monarchs. I caught two--one already tagged and another that I got to tag.
It was a great day filled with fun memories of high stepping and bumble bees taking up residence on Michael's shirt and stranding him in the middle of the field until I rescued him. Who would have thought that I would have fun tromping in a field with tons of bees? There were no yellow jackets, so no panicking!
