30 Days of Thanks: Days 18 and 19

Matthew 6: 28-34

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow.  They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Matthew 16: 24-27

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.  What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done."

Thank God for the Bible.
Thank God for His peace.

Thank you Lord for your Word.  Thank you that we have access to your Word, that we can own the Bible and read it for ourselves. Thank you for being able to read and memorize the Word.  Thank you that the Bible is your love letter to us and that is teaches us about you.  The Bible teaches us the way we should live and how to find salvation and forgiveness of sins.  Thank you Lord for the peace you give us.  The peace that passes all understanding.  Thank you that as we spend more time with you the more at peace with you, ourselves and with others we will be.  Thank you Lord for your Word and for your peace!
