30 Days of Thanks: Day 2

1 Timothy 6:17-19

"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.  Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.  In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."

Thank you God for today.

So many days I spend my time worrying about the future, worrying about what will happen or probably will never happen.  Today Lord, I thank You for your goodness and provision TODAY.  When we pray the Lord's prayer, we say "Give us THIS DAY our DAILY bread...", but I worry so much about more than today.  BUT You've always provided for me and my family.  We have more than we need--food in our bellies, warm heat, cars to get where we are going, good jobs.  You've put us in a family that loves deep, but not nearly as much as You truly love us.  It says in my Scripture today that You "richly provide us with everything for our enjoyment."  How much You love us today and everyday.  Even when parts of today are overwhelming, You say:  "Come to me, all You who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."  Thank you for rest today when the world says run and do, go and be more.  Thank you God for today!
