Today I give thanks for Scriptures that speak to our specific needs in the moment. I participate in the monthly Scripture writing plans from Sweet Blessings and The Felicity Bee and I am always amazed when the daily plans line up with what I need to be reminded of that day.
A recent passage during a very hectic, stressful week:
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is
made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly
about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why,
for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships,
in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
I'm thankful that even on the hectic days, I can still set aside time to spend in God's Word. It may be on-the-go, or surrounded by children doing schoolwork; but it's important for me to make that time a priority. Am I always successful? No, but I keep trying!
"For the word of God
is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates
even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
