Worry

I’m the proverbial  worrywart!  “What if’s” can plague me on a plethora of subjects.  Maybe it’s because I overthink situations, circumstances, changes or maybe it’s because I don’t let myself be informed enough with the TRUTH.  Maybe a bit of both!

There are several situations and changes that have come up in recent days.  A health issue that needs to be checked out, a new promotion for my husband, more responsibilities in volunteer organizations and the demands of life as a homeschooling mom.

It’s amazing when life seems overwhelming that God speaks to us through His word even more.  Even when circumstances don’t change, God is still with us and taking care of us. I’ve been reminded so much lately of His care as scriptures come to me.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed,

For I am your God.

I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:25-34

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’  Therefore most gladly therefore, I would rather boast about my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me.”

2 Corinthians 12:9
