I'm not really a Costco/Sam's Club kinda girl. I don't really feel the need to stock-up on most items. It has come to my attention lately that there are a few things that I can save some big bucks on just by buying the bigger sizes.
1. Minced Garlic--Sometimes it's a pain to peel fresh garlic. I can find this huge jar that sells in regular stores for $9 at Ollie's for only $3. It's almost always there!
2. Maple Flavoring- I have made our syrup for several years now. I usually buy this 2 oz. bottle of Mapleine at Walmart for $3-4. They stopped selling that brand, so I got on Amazon and read a few reviews. I realized how much I'd been over-spending on that 2 oz. bottle. These TWO 16 oz. bottles were $25. So, I saved a good deal, buying in bulk. The 2 oz. bottle lasted forever. I may never have to buy syrup flavor ever again.
3. Yeast- I have bought my yeast from Kroger for years now. Bread machine yeast comes in these jars that are about $4 a piece for 4 oz. I was looking at a recipe on another blog for Dutch Oven No Knead Bread and found out that King Arthur flour sold these 1 lb. packages of yeast. I decided to go with Amazon for the free shipping, but ended up paying only $7--4 jars worth for half the price!
