Saturday evening, we attended the Candlelight Tour of Ft. Loudoun. The fort is one of my "happy places". We enjoyed refreshments, wonderful 18th century music and the magic of seeing a cannon fired in the dark. It was truly an awesome experience!
Some friends came over yesterday for Christmas school. My friend prepared some awesome hand-outs for the kids about The Origins/History of Christmas, Christmas around the world and the history of various popular Christmas traditions (stockings, candy canes, etc.)
We added to our history lesson through these websites:
Classical Composers Monthly- Christmas freebie page
Feliz Navidad
My contribution to the day was Roll a Snowman game....
Why Do We Call It Christmas?
and Grinchy Floats (Lime Sherbet, Sprite, and whipped topping with sprinkles)
Today, the kids have been working on art projects for a contest at JP's job. Multiple tries to get it just right!
and we are home! I'm so thankful for a day at home. I'm feeling the Christmas crunch and my own lack of productivity in getting some time-sensitive things done. So, today I'm working on my to-do list and feeling much better about things in general. The sun peeked out for a minute and has been covered by clouds once again. I hope it comes back to stay.
