Review and Giveaway: Classical Composers Monthly- Fine Art Pages

I've always loved to include Charlotte Mason components into our homeschool day.   Over the years, we've tried to incorporate nature, composer and art studies.  It can just get so overwhelming to try and find all the appropriate material to use.  I've spent a lot of time just looking for various online resources.  To be honest, I'd just about given up on trying to do it anymore.  It always seemed like those studies (especially the composer and art studies) were getting pushed out of the way because of the tediousness of finding the materials.

Then, I was given the chance to review for free Classical Composers Monthly's new product:  Fine Art Pages-  a 28 page PDF that includes 25 famous paintings and information about each one.  There are tips and suggestions on how to use the product included.   I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was so happy with this product.

I printed off several pictures pages, trimmed them and put them up on the dry erase board.  After less than a week, my older kids could identify all three pieces of art.  Even Michael was interested in the pictures and trying to name them. I like the way everything I need is right there.  I can just print them out---easy as that!  I don't have to go to all the work of finding the artwork and other relevant information.  You don't have to intentionally teach them to your children. You can just post them up.   They are so colorful and well set up that it automatically drew my kids' attention.  My kids also loved the fun facts included about the artists and would quiz each other on them.

There are so many other things you could do with this set:
  • display them anywhere in your house- on the fridge or other high traffic area
  • print them out and make a art collection notebook
  • put them in a photo frame and rotate the picture on a regular basis
  • making games out of identifying the works of art
  • tape or paste them to your kids' school folders
The options are endless...
