Playing in the waves

Day 2- Atlantic Ocean at Edisto Beach State Park Beach
It was such a beautiful day.  We were scared the kids wouldn't be able to get in the surf because of Hurricane Katia.  The waves were crashing so much the night before, it was a bit scary.  But Wednesday dawned a bright, beautiful, calm day.

We couldn't keep these kids out of the surf.
(Well, we didn't really try, but you know what I mean)

Day 3- We met up with some friends, who just happened to be vacationing here, too.  They introduced us to a calmer place called The Sound.  Nice gentle waves and tidal pools.  Michael really had a lot of fun this day especially since they had tons of snacks (aka cookies) for him to beg.

Daddy had so much fun, too...searching for shells and sand dollars in the sand.

Our friends invited us back to the resort where they were staying for a picnic, some pool time and putt putt golf.   We had a mini-homeschooling convention in their pool with the 2 other families there from different parts of the country.  Pretty cool!
We had a really great time!
