Excitement...Narnia style

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know my kids are obsessed with everything Narnia. If you didn't know, check out this post.

What you may not know is, we don't go to movie theaters. Only because movies are so expensive and most movies (the few we would want to see) we don't mind waiting for them to come out on DVD. Well, we knew as soon as we heard The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was coming to a theater near us, it would be a great early Christmas present for our two oldest children. They knew we were going to let them go, just not when. So yesterday after church, I wrote a Christmas card that said Merry Christmas---you are invited to a showing of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader---RIGHT NOW!!!

You can see their reaction below. They were beyond excited. It was already decided JP would take them, so they are hugging him, jumping up and down, yelling "YES!"

We paid the extra for them to see it in 3-D (hey, this is a once in a lifetime experience). JP said Tera ate most of the popcorn, while Daniel was just into the movie. So the above picture is a great snapshot of the entire time. Tera did not stop talking from the time she came in the door until the time she went to bed. She even worked it into her bedtime prayer. Daniel barely talked about it, just that he liked it. (I don't think he liked the 3-D aspect and two hours sitting still). I'm so glad we were able to splurge and do this for our two Narnia fanatics. The only part I regretted missing was the popcorn (I wonder where Tera gets that from?)---my consolation prize was some of their leftover popcorn. My heart was satisfied. I'm sure Tera will recite every line and scene so when it comes out on DVD, I'll know the movie by heart.
